Duties
- Prepare pizza dough from scratch, ensuring proper texture and consistency for optimal baking results
- Select and prepare fresh ingredients, including vegetables, meats, cheeses, and sauces for topping pizzas
- Use various cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food handling procedures to cook pizzas to perfection
- Operate pizza ovens and other kitchen equipment safely while maintaining food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new pizza flavors and toppings based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety management standards
- Support food production for catering events or high-volume service periods with efficient meal preparation and food handling skills
Skills
- Extensive experience in food preparation, especially within the food industry or restaurant settings
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with culinary techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food safety sanitizing procedures
- Proven ability in high-volume production environments with excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus for accommodating special dietary needs
- Experience in menu planning and fine dining settings enhances your ability to craft gourmet pizzas
- Solid understanding of food safety principles, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Exceptional teamwork skills with a focus on serving customers efficiently while maintaining quality standards
