Mascheroni Design/Build is seeking a Construction Superintendent to manage day-to-day field operations on high-end residential construction and remodel projects. This role acts as the jobsite lead: executing plans, coordinating trades, conducting quality control, and maintaining the schedule.
This is a field-first role. You will be responsible for daily execution, trade flow, quality control, and professional communication with project managers, clients, and inspectors.
Responsibilities
Field Execution & Documentation
- Conduct a daily morning walk to confirm crew and subcontractor scope, safety, readiness, and priorities
- Maintain accurate same-day daily field logs, including:
- Labor onsite and work completed
- Schedule impacts, inspections, deliveries, weather, and meetings
- Field selections and changes
- Take and upload clear progress photos of completed work, concealed details, and field issues
- Approve carpenter hours daily for accuracy and job costing
Subcontractor Coordination & Trade Flow
- Manage a rolling 2-week lookahead schedule
- Confirm subcontractor readiness at 2 weeks, 1 week, and 24 hours prior to start
- Verify materials, access, and site conditions are ready before trades arrive
- Enforce subcontractor scope completion and cleanup before sign-off
Schedule Monitoring & Control
- Track field progress against the approved construction schedule
- Identify schedule risks early and propose corrective actions
- Adjust manpower, sequencing, or start times to maintain milestone flow
- Prepare critical path items, inspections, and long-lead activities at least one week in advance
Quality Control
- Perform pre-inspection walkthroughs for structural, MEP, and finish phases
- Conduct pre-start reviews with trades covering critical details before work begins
- Verify all work meets plans, specifications, and company standards prior to approval
- Document and correct deficiencies immediately — never advance work with open issues
Communication & Professionalism
- Communicate proactively with the Project Manager regarding progress, risks, and changes
- Participate in client and inspector walkthroughs as needed
- Log all inspector directives, notes, and approvals
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite at all times
