Contract Lighting & Spatial Production DesignerCreating a Signature Space Through Light, Atmosphere & Visuals
We are seeking a highly creative Contract Lighting & Spatial Production Designer to help transform a single venue into a truly unique and unforgettable experience. This role is about far more than standard lighting — we are looking for someone who can shape the identity of a space through lighting, atmosphere, creative installations, fabrication, and bold visual statement pieces.
The ideal candidate understands how lighting, structure, movement, texture, fabrication, and spatial design work together to create emotion and energy within a room. We want someone capable of designing signature features — including creative power walls, immersive lighting environments, focal installations, scenic builds, and visual moments that define the space and make it instantly recognizable.

Responsibilities
- Develop a cohesive creative lighting and production vision for a unique entertainment venue.
- Design immersive lighting environments that shape the atmosphere and guest experience.
- Create statement visual elements including custom power walls, focal lighting features, LED installations, scenic builds, and spatial concepts.
- Collaborate with ownership, creative teams, fabricators, electricians, and production crews to bring concepts to life.
- Assist in sourcing lighting fixtures, LED products, fabrication materials, scenic elements, and custom production components.
- Work alongside fabrication teams and vendors to develop custom-built installations and structural visual features.
- Produce lighting layouts, renderings, mood boards, fabrication concepts, and technical plans.
- Recommend control systems, production technologies, materials, and visual solutions that align with the creative direction and budget.
- Program lighting systems and assist with implementation, testing, and final execution.
- Design with both aesthetics and functionality in mind to ensure the space feels immersive, dynamic, and operationally efficient.
- Help establish a visual identity for the venue that separates it from traditional nightlife and entertainment spaces.
Requirements
- Experience in lighting design, production design, immersive environments, nightlife, entertainment, or experiential spaces.
- Experience with fabrication, scenic construction, custom installations, or creative build-outs preferred.
- Strong understanding of spatial design, lighting aesthetics, fabrication processes, and audience experience.
- Experience sourcing fixtures, materials, fabrication vendors, LED products, and production elements.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software such as:
- grandMA2 / grandMA3
- Capture
- Vectorworks Spotlight
- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- Resolume (plus)
- Ability to create visual concepts, renderings, fabrication ideas, and technical documentation.
- Understanding of DMX, Art-Net, sACN, and live production workflows.
- Strong creative instincts with attention to detail and visual storytelling.
- Ability to work independently on a contract/project basis while collaborating closely with the creative team.

Pay: $5,000.00 - $8,500.00 per month
