Our fast-paced, growing medical practice is looking for a smart, innovative, proactive, people-oriented person to join our team as a receptionist and patient advocate.
The ideal candidate understands the importance of the front office role in protecting the health of others. He or she is both detail-oriented and accountable, and understands that missed details of the job can cause physically or financially devastating outcomes for patients.
Minimum skills:
1. Hospitable. A candidate must be patient, empathetic, and work well with others, in addition to being extremely likable. This position is a people-facing position that involves teamwork. Our office is a close team relying heavily on each other.
2. Proficiency in English language (grammatically correct speaking, reading, and writing skills at a native speaker proficiency). A core responsibility of the role is communicating effectively with patients, physicians, and pharmacies. Speaking multiple languages is a strong plus, but not required.
3. Intermediate-level computing and typing skills. Examples include: data entry, word processing, calendaring/scheduling, internet search, electronic fax, phone systems, and email. Must have familiarity with using Windows operating systems. A basic typing and computer test will be administered during the interview.
4. Fast learner. The practice is growing every day. The candidate should be prepared and desire personal and professional growth, and be able to receive constructive criticism very well, with the end goal of delivering the best medical care humanly possible.
5. Experience with working patients in a medical setting is preferred, however, it is not necessary for the right candidate. If the candidate is motivated to learn, takes instruction well, and is very adaptable, he or she will do well, regardless of experience.
