Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flexo Press Printer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and oversee flexographic printing presses, ensuring high-quality production of printed materials such as labels, packaging, and advertising media. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, technical proficiency in press operation, and an eye for color management and print quality. Duties
- Review and understand Job jackets
- Set up, operate and maintain 18” Flexo press to run at highest possible production.
- Carry out accurately and precisely detailed instructions from job jackets.
- Identify errors or problems and take prompt action to correct.
- Set up and adjust and check preciseness of detail against specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and meet standards for waste and spoilage.
- Pack finished product on to rolling carts or into cartons. Labeling cartons may be required.
- Ability to understand and apply detailed instructions, math skills, knowledge of adhesives and related materials/techniques used in Flexo printing.
- The ability to master the skill of mixing ink colors and learning anilox knowledge for Flexo.
- Learn how to custom match ink colors on all substrate materials
- The ability to use micrometer.
- The ability to lift 40lbs minimum.
- Bestforms uses a computerized job tracking system for job costing that every employee must use and understand.
- Flexo press operators is responsible for the safe efficient operation of the equipment according to the rules and procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience operating flexo presses or large-format printers within a manufacturing or print production environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems related to industrial equipment adjustment and machine operation.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and prepress software.
- Knowledge of color management techniques, typography, layout design, and print advertising principles.
- Familiarity with digital printing technologies and screen printing processes is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret complex technical documents accurately and follow detailed instructions.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality control standards in a fast-paced production setting.
- Basic machining skills or mechanical knowledge related to industrial equipment maintenance is preferred.
