Surgical tech - PT/ FT, depending on experience and abilities, certified required, bilingual Spanish is a plus but not required, prefer at least 3 years tech experience assisting in surgery( 1 yr required), work in a cosmetic surgical setting is preferred, need a friendly people person who will provide excellent customer service to patients, while delivering excellent and proficient patient care. Also need an attitude of willingness to work and present a positive impression to patients. Ability to start intravenous lines is required.
Job duties: Tech duties - actively assisting in surgery and anticipating surgical maneuvers to best help doctor, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, setting up a sterile field, experience starting Intravenous lines, cleaning rooms, stocking and noting inventory shortages, ordering supplies and managing inventory, as well as patient care and non medical duties below.
Patient care: placing and replacing dressings, suture removal, wound care, counseling patients on pre and post op care, answering patient care questions, willing to spend time talking with patients in a friendly manner, start IVs for treatment done by the doctor.
Non medical duties: Assist in posting on social media, assist consultant in marketing duties, answer phones for appointments, cover the front office
Experience will not be counted if it was
1. A clerkship, internship, externship, or a training experience during school
2. work as a sterilizing tech, instrument tech, or processing tech
3. work as a medical assistant or receptionist or front office
4. work as a GI tech, OB tech, Ophthalmology tech doing only refraction surgery
