We are seeking a skilled and passionate person to join our premiere culinary team at a high-volume, fine dining restaurant. We are seeking a well-rounded individual with a background in food preparation and presentation and a preference for experience on the cold side of the line. On Cold Side, you will play a vital role in ensuring every cold dish meets our high standards of quality thru extra care, attention to detail and exceptional execution with the desire to grow your knowledge and expand your skill set too. Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble menu items such as salads, cold appetizers and desserts according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Handle food products safely, ensuring proper storage thru labeling and proper handling techniques are followed.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
- Ability to take direction well and listen to the Expo for clear instructions.
- Opening and closing down the line every night with detailed cleaning duties.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
- Possibly assisting in menu development, contributing creative ideas for seasonal dishes.
Requirements
- 1-2 years previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. (ServSafe Certification is a bonus)
- Excellent assembling skills with the ability to work under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A passion for the food industry and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
- Dietary department experience or dietary aide experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
