About Us
Midwest Glass & Mirror Company is a seasoned commercial and residential glass and glazing contractor with deep roots in southwestern Michigan and northern Indiana. For over 30 years, we’ve delivered high-quality commercial glazing, entrances, storefront systems, custom architectural glass, and related products to general contractors, property managers, and commercial clients. We are known for professionalism, reliability, and craftsmanship on every project.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Engineer to oversee and coordinate commercial construction projects from an office setting. This role is not a field superintendent — you will be the central coordinator working with contractors, clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure commercial jobs are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
This is a hands-on, PM role focused on commercial construction and specialty trade projects, specifically in glass and glazing. Experience in glass and glazing is not required, but prior experience in construction management is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning and execution for commercial glass/glazing construction, including storefronts, entrances, curtainwall components, and associated systems
- Prepare and manage project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Coordinate with general contractors, architects, suppliers, and subcontractors to drive progress and resolve issues
- Manage contract scopes and documentation; review drawings and specifications
- Oversee procurement and delivery of materials
- Maintain project communication logs, meeting minutes, and updates
- Track project financials, forecasting, and invoicing
- Support leadership with strategic planning and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial construction experience
- Experience with construction documentation: RFIs, submittals, change orders, scheduling, contract administration
- Comfortable working in an office environment as the primary location of job control
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Prolog, Buildertrend, Bluebeam) beneficial
- Experience with specialty trades (glass, glazing, storefronts, entrances) strongly preferred
What We’re Looking For
We want a candidate who can confidently run projects from pre-construction through close-out with minimal supervision, communicate effectively with GC partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, and ensure the details are never overlooked.
Note: Candidates with experience solely in IT, insurance, software, or non-construction industries will not be considered.
