Topre America is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Overhead Crane Operator to join our metal stamping team. This role is responsible for safely moving stamping dies and materials throughout the facility to support production operations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining production flow, organization, and safety standards within the die storage and production support areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently to move stamping dies, materials, and equipment throughout the facility.
- Support production needs by prioritizing and completing die movements in a safe and timely manner.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.
- Work collaboratively with team members to continuously improve department performance and production support.
- Maintain organization of die storage areas and perform daily 5S activities to reduce safety risks and improve efficiency.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes and lifting equipment to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Secure and move loads using proper rigging techniques and safe lifting practices.
- Utilize scanning systems and computer programs to track die movements and inventory.
- Maintain accurate records and logs related to equipment usage, inspections, and material movement.
- Assist with troubleshooting operational issues and communicate concerns promptly to leadership.
- Support warehouse, shipping, receiving, and production operations as needed.
- Lift and move materials weighing 35+ pounds when required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
- Experience in a metal stamping facility or die handling environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of rigging practices and safe material handling procedures preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial equipment such as forklifts or heavy equipment is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and safety.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use scanning systems and production software.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Crane or forklift certifications are preferred but not required; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
