BEGINNING PAY: $18.50 per hour / 177 Day Contract
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must meet certification qualifications for paraprofessional approval.

Basic Requirement high school diploma or equivalent (for both "a" and "b" below)

State Requirements for Paraprofessional Approval for persons employed in programs supported with Title I Funds
2. Possesses good interpersonal skills.
3. Able to work with students in an effective manner.
4. Other qualifications as deemed necessary by the Superintendent.
5. Any of the above qualifications may be waived by the Superintendent when necessary.
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISION: Aids in the supervision of students in the instructional and non-instructional setting.
JOB GOALS: To help students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, capable, and responsible young people.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
INSTRUCTIONAL PLANNING

Assists substitute teachers in completing lessons as indicated in written directions from the teacher.

Monitors student progress as instructed by the teacher.

Adjusts plans, methods, and assessments to meet student needs under the supervision of the teacher(s).
INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS
-
Reinforces the communicated objective(s) and purpose(s) of the lesson that were introduced by the teacher.

Explains and clarifies material in guided practice of teacher assigned independent work.

Uses varied resources and materials based on student needs and the objective(s) of the lesson.

Utilizes a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate individual differences and maintains a high level of interest.

Incorporates instructional strategies that promote students' critical thinking.

Provides frequent, timely, and varied feedback that includes constructive criticism that motivates students.

Helps teacher involve all students in the learning process.

Reinforces communicated expectations for daily and long-term student achievement.

Sick Days
12 Sick Days per school year
Personal Days
2 personal days per year. May accumulate up to 7 personal days. After 7 personal days accumulated, the 2 personal days are added to sick leave.
Bi-Monthly Payrolls
24 payrolls per fiscal year. Pay days are on the 15th and 30th of each month. If these days fall on a weekend, pay day is the Friday before.
