Carolina Home Lift, Inc is actively hiring an Elevator Service/Installation Technician to install, maintain, service, and modernize residential and commercial elevator systems.
Elevator and Stairlift installation and service experienced technicians are strongly encouraged to apply — your skills transfer directly, and we will train you on specific elevator systems.
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair elevator systems (hydraulic, traction, MRL, Pneumatic)
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Install residential elevators and complete modernizations
- Diagnose electrical control systems (relays, VFDs, controllers)
- Respond to service calls and occasional emergency work
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years experience in elevator service and installation.
- Individuals of high character and integrity.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics (required)
- Self-starter who can work independently as well as with a team

- Conduct field service visits to client sites, delivering timely solutions while maintaining high safety standards.
- Test systems after repairs or upgrades to confirm proper operation and compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed service records, work logs, and maintenance reports for each job performed.
- Collaborate with clients to provide clear explanations of issues, repair procedures, and safety protocols.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in industrial mechanics and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Hands-on experience with electrical components used in elevator machinery.
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and safety procedures.
- Customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients and address their concerns professionally.
- Experience working in field service environments with a focus on timely problem resolution.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and maintain a proactive approach to system upkeep. - The Elevator Mechanic will work in a variety of settings, including commercial buildings, hospitals, airports, and residential complexes.
- The job may involve working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Hazards may include electrical shock, falls, and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Special Physical Demands:
- The Elevator Mechanic must be able to lift heavy equipment up to fifty pounds (50lbs) or more, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- The job may require standing for prolonged periods of time and working in awkward position.
Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
