We are looking to expand our per diem CNA pool to service all of rural Kansas.
Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices
- Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or memory impairments through tailored approaches such as memory care techniques and behavioral health support
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control practices including aseptic technique and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in infectious disease or ICU settings
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy, and basic life support (BLS) when trained and authorized
- Document patient information accurately in medical records while respecting HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and data security
Experience
- Prior experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care protocols across acute care, sub-acute care, post-acute settings, and home & community care
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for medical documentation and patient records management
- Hands-on experience supporting patients with complex needs including ICU or Level II trauma center experience is a plus
- Background working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health challenges enhances your ability to provide comprehensive care
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous
- Strong communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to caregiving will enable you to excel in delivering patient-centered service across pediatrics, geriatrics, hospice care, or emergency medicine settings

Pay: $23.52 - $26.74 per hour
