Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented First Year Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to develop foundational litigation skills across a broad spectrum of legal areas. We handle personal injury and wrongful death cases from beginning through litigation and trial. The types of cases we handle include car accidents, trip and falls, product defects, premises liability cases, dog bites, elder abuse and nursing home neglect cases As a First Year Litigation Attorney, you will assist senior attorneys in case preparation, legal research, drafting and responding to written discovery, drafting motions, attending hearings and depositions, and managing client interactions. This position is ideal for recent law school graduates eager to gain hands-on courtroom experience and grow their expertise in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using platforms such as Westlaw to support ongoing cases.
- Assist in drafting legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements with clarity and precision.
- Support case management by organizing files, maintaining case calendars, and tracking deadlines to ensure timely filings.
- Participate in client meetings, depositions, and court proceedings.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and prepare for hearings or trials.
- Review and analyze evidence related to personal injury cases or other litigation matters.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar is mandatory .
- Demonstrated knowledge of procedural law and statutory legal research methods.
- Experience with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear, concise legal documents.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple cases simultaneously.
- Prior law office experience or internships involving legal research or motion preparation is advantageous but not required.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
