Café Collette is a new French-inspired café opening in downtown Evanston, centered around excellent coffee, warm hospitality and beautifully presented grazing boxes.
We are looking for a hands-on Café Manager to help bring the concept to life. This is ideal for an experienced barista, shift leader, assistant manager or hospitality professional ready to take the next step.
As employee number one, you will have the opportunity to build Café Collette from the ground up and help shape its operations, guest experience and culture. The owner will remain closely involved, and you will work together to create a distinctive neighborhood café.
What you’ll do
- Lead daily café operations
- Prepare espresso drinks and assemble grazing boxes and platters
- Deliver a premium, polished guest experience
- Manage inventory, ordering, food safety and cleanliness
- Help recruit, train and schedule a small team
- Establish operating routines and service standards
- Contribute ideas to improve the menu and overall café experience
What we’re looking for
- Experience in a café, restaurant, hotel or other hospitality business
- Experience delivering a premium guest or retail experience preferred
- Some experience leading a shift, team or area of operations
- A proactive, dependable and hands-on approach
- Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
- Availability for early mornings and Saturdays
- Espresso experience preferred, but training can be provided
