The Ritual Room is looking for a compassionate, client centered Licensed Massage Therapist to join our growing team as an Independent Contractor.
We are a fast growing, trauma informed massage practice that believes healing begins with safety. Our work emphasizes nervous system regulation, informed consent, individualized care, and creating an environment where clients feel genuinely respected and heard.
While The Ritual Room is a newer practice, it was founded by a massage therapist with over 10 years of experience in the field. As a business owner, I’m continuing to learn and grow every day, and I’m looking for someone who is patient, collaborative, and excited to grow alongside the practice. I value open communication and believe the best working relationships are built on mutual respect, honesty, and teamwork.
Because you’ll be working independently without direct supervision and will have access to the treatment room and building, it’s especially important that you’re dependable, trustworthy, responsible, and able to manage your time professionally.
Trauma informed experience is preferred but not required. If you have not completed trauma informed training, you must be willing to complete an approved continuing education course after joining our team. We’re looking for someone who is teachable, open minded, receptive to feedback, and committed to continued learning.
Current availability includes:
- Sunday Monday Tuesday Alternating Saturdays
You’re welcome to begin with one or two days per week and gradually add additional days as your schedule fills and your clientele grows.
Although you are an independent contractor and have flexibility in your schedule, we ask that you remain committed to the days you choose so clients have reliable availability.
Compensation
- 50% commission ($40+ per 60 minute massage)
- 100% of your tips
- Weekly or daily payouts available based on your preference
Compensation listed above does not include gratuities. Every dollar of tips earned from your services belongs entirely to you.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Holds a current Florida Massage Therapy License
- Maintains current professional liability insurance
- Completes SOAP notes promptly and accurately
- Communicates professionally, honestly, and respectfully
- Provides client centered, ethical care
- Is dependable, trustworthy, and punctual
- Is comfortable marketing themselves while also benefiting from The Ritual Room’s marketing efforts
- Is willing to actively build and retain their own clientele
- Maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming treatment room
- Has excellent professional boundaries
- Is teachable and committed to continual growth
If you’re new to massage or returning to the profession after time away, I’m happy to provide additional training and mentorship to help build your confidence.
For clients who have become accustomed to my style of massage, I may occasionally provide guidance on certain techniques or treatment approaches to help create a familiar experience.
You’ll also be trained in The Ritual Room’s signature add on services. You’re always welcome to introduce additional modalities or add on services of your own if they complement your practice.
Contractor Responsibilities
As an independent contractor, you’ll provide:
- Your own massage oils, creams, or lotions
- Your own linens
- Your own towels
Providing your own supplies is one of the benefits of being an independent contractor, as these business expenses are generally tax deductible. If you’re just getting started and need time to build your linen collection, you’re welcome to borrow mine while you get established.
An Alexa speaker is available in the treatment room, or you’re welcome to bring your own Bluetooth speaker if you prefer.

We’re looking for someone who believes massage is about more than relieving muscle tension. It’s about helping people feel safe, cared for, and supported.
Preference will be given to therapists who are interested in building a long term home for their practice rather than simply filling available hours.
