MetroWest Mediation was founded in 1979 and is a non-profit conflict resolution and training center. We are one of the oldest community mediation centers in Massachusetts. Originally founded to strictly serve Framingham District Court, we have expanded to serve 18 cities and towns, 3 court departments, and 5 divisions of the District Court Department. MetroWest is committed to increasing awareness, utilization, and accessibility to dispute resolution alternatives. - - - MetroWest facilitates peaceful resolution of disputes within all communities it serves, and through the courts, by supporting people to work together to resolve conflict. Each year, its mediators help resolve conflict in around 1,000 cases, providing community members with a constructive way to settle disputes. MetroWest offers free mediation services for Small Claims, Summary Process (housing and eviction), Civil, and Harassment Prevention Order (HPO) cases in the Concord, Framingham, Marlborough, and Natick District Courts; mediates HPO cases in Middlesex Juvenile Court and parenting time cases in Middlesex and Suffolk Probate & Family Court; and, through the Local Consumer Program, supports consumers and businesses in resolving disputes before a case is filed in court. It also provides divorce, elder and family, and community mediation services for residents and businesses throughout MetroWest, trains students in local schools to serve as peer mediators, and engages in re-entry mediation at local facilities.
