THE ROLE
As our Electrical Estimator, you’ll own the numbers side of how we pursue commercial construction work. That means reading the plans, building the bid, and making sure every estimate reflects the real cost of doing the job right. You’ll work closely with our project managers and leadership to price work accurately, identify risks early, and help us put our best foot forward on every opportunity.
We’re open on experience level. If you know how to estimate commercial electrical work or commercial construction more broadly and you have the discipline and drive to do it well, we want to hear from you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Build accurate, competitive bids
- Take off and price commercial electrical projects from full plan sets, specs, and scopes of work.
- Estimate labor, materials, equipment, and overhead with precision and consistency.
- Support design-build and design-assist opportunities work from narratives and early drawings, flag scope gaps, and identify value engineering options.
- Develop early budget numbers for clients using historical project data.
Collaborate & communicate
- Work hand-in-hand with project managers and field leadership to make sure estimates reflect how work actually gets built.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors; negotiate to get the best value without cutting corners.
- Present bid packages and cost breakdowns clearly to leadership and clients.
- Hit deadlines. Every time.
Stay sharp
- Keep up with material pricing trends, labor market conditions, and changes in the Kansas commercial construction landscape.
- Continuously improve our estimating processes, templates, and historical data.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Hands-on estimating experience in commercial construction electrical background strongly preferred.
- Comfortable reading and taking off from electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficient with estimating software (McCormick, Accubid, or similar) and Microsoft Office.
- Detail-oriented and analytically strong you catch things others miss.
- Clear communicator in writing and in conversation.
- Self-directed and organized you manage your own workload and don’t need to be chased down.
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a bonus, not a requirement.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
