What You’ll Do
The IT Specialist will support Clearpath’s internal technology operations to ensure employees have reliable, secure, and efficient access to the tools and systems needed to deliver high-quality research and analysis to our clients. This role will assist with device management, user support, collaboration platforms, and core business applications that enable project execution across the firm’s portfolio.
The IT Specialist will also play a key role in coordinating efforts between research analysts and technical resources to support the implementation and maintenance of tools related to data access, visualization platforms, and workflow efficiency. This position helps ensure Clearpath staff can effectively leverage technology to identify, organize, and work with relevant information across business and research environments.
All Clearpath team members are expected to demonstrate strong attention to detail, adaptability across different business sectors and geographies, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced consulting environment. The IT Specialist should bring curiosity, responsiveness, and a proactive mindset to improving internal systems and supporting new technical capabilities that strengthen how we deliver insights to clients.
Provide Technical Support
- Deliver first-line IT support for hardware, software, and access issues
- Troubleshoot laptops, printers, conferencing platforms, and mobile devices
- Respond to employee support requests quickly and professionally
- Escalate complex technical issues when needed
Support Employee Onboarding & Offboarding
- Configure laptops and user accounts for new hires
- Set up email, collaboration tools, VPN, and required software
- Coordinate equipment setup for hybrid and remote staff
- Ensure secure account deactivation during offboarding
Assist with Systems Administration
- Help manage Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace environments
- Support user provisioning and permissions management
- Maintain internal IT documentation and procedures
- Assist with system updates and patch tracking
Support Security Best Practices
- Help enforce IT security policies and procedures
- Support MFA rollout and endpoint protection tools
- Assist with periodic access reviews
- Promote cybersecurity awareness across staff
Basic Qualifications
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain US Government security clearance
- BA/S degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 0–2 years of IT support experience (internships welcome)
- Familiarity with Windows and macOS environments
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (Wi-Fi, VPN, permissions)
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Desired Skills
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
- Exposure to endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune, Jamf, Kandji)
- Familiarity with identity and access management concepts
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification (or interest in obtaining one)
Position Details
- Primary Work Location: Fairfax, VA
- Hybrid Work Schedule: 4 days/week in office, 1 days remote
Pay: $72,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
