Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated PCB Loader/Board Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves the precise handling, loading, and inspection of printed circuit boards (PCBs) to ensure high-quality assembly and production efficiency. Duties
- Load and position PCBs accurately onto assembly lines or machines, ensuring proper orientation and placement.
- Operate surface mount technology (SMT) equipment and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to facilitate automated assembly processes.
- Inspect PCBs for defects or inconsistencies using calipers, ohmmeters, and other hand tools, adhering to IPC 610 standards for electronic assemblies.
- Assist in the preparation of electrical wiring and schematics for assembly tasks, supporting the overall manufacturing workflow.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to modify or prepare components as needed for assembly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot issues related to PCB handling or assembly.
Skills
- Proficiency with PCB design, layout, and schematic interpretation.
- Experience with surface mount technology (SMT) soldering techniques and IPC 610 standards.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring, schematics, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in manufacturing equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience operating hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measurement tools such as calipers.
- Electrical experience including soldering, circuit testing, and component placement.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes related to electronics assembly.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with good organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality standards. Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, electronics, or production experience preferred
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Basic understanding of electronic components and PCB assembly processes preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to accurately identify, count, and verify electronic components
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while meeting productivity goals
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during the shift
- Ability to use hands and fingers for repetitive tasks involving small components
- Good vision, including close-up visual inspection of electronic assemblies
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) or Surface Mount Technology (SMT)
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610 quality standards
- Experience in electronics manufacturing or assembly
- Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures and handling requirements
- Soldering or electronic assembly experience is a plus
- Ability to identify electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, and integrated circuits (ICs)
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
