Editor-in-Chief, Asphalt Contractor and Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction

IRONMARKETS is seeking an experienced, Editor-in-Chief to lead editorial strategy and content execution for Asphalt Contractor and Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction, two trusted brands within the ForConstructionPros.com network. This role is ideal for a strong journalist and content leader who can write, assign, edit, publish and repurpose content across print, digital, social, video, podcast, webinar and event platforms while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

What You’ll Do
· Lead editorial strategy for the asphalt and pavement markets, ensuring each brand has a clear voice, strong point of view and consistent presence across platforms.
· Write, assign, edit and manage long-form and short-form content for print and digital channels, including articles, blogs, product write-ups, news items and contributed content.
· Oversee monthly print production for both publications in partnership with the Production Manager, Art Director and internal stakeholders.
· Manage content for ForConstructionPros.com/Asphalt and ForConstructionPros.com/Pavement, including contributed content, news, events, original bylined content and other online assets.
· Develop and maintain annual editorial calendars, identify key industry topics and update digital media kit content in collaboration with the Content Director.
· Create and repurpose digital-first content across SEO-driven articles, social media, newsletters, video, podcasts, webinars and other multimedia formats.
· Moderate podcasts, webinars and in-person conference sessions as needed; conduct phone and video interviews with industry sources, advertisers and subject-matter experts.
· Monitor content performance using analytics platforms and apply insights to improve audience engagement, keyword strategy and content planning.
· Manage brand e-newsletters and social media channels to grow audience engagement and support monetization opportunities.
· Facilitate awards programs, spec guides and related brand initiatives in collaboration with the Content Director and Sales team.
· Collaborate with the Construction content team, Editorial Advisory Board, Sales, Art, Production and other internal teams to identify content opportunities and support client programs.
· Attend tradeshows, conferences and other industry events; overnight travel is required at least 10% of the time.

What We’re Looking For
· Journalism and print production experience required.
· Experience with website management, digital publishing and content management systems preferred.
· Video production experience preferred; comfort appearing on camera for video, social and podcast content is required.
· Construction industry or related B2B media experience preferred.
· Strong writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and platforms.
· Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders in a fast-paced editorial environment.
· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with industry contacts, advertisers, contributors and internal teams.
· Collaborative, flexible and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Parsely, Google Analytics, content management systems and related digital tools.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
· Ability to travel overnight at least 10% of the time.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
