We are looking for a part-time Veterinary Assistant / Kennel Assistant to join our small veterinary hospital in Costa Mesa.
Entry levels are welcome!
Applicants must have a positive attitude, attention to detail, customer care focus, good communication skills, must be a faster learner, and have the ability to work in a fast pace environment while still providing excellent service.
Veterinary hospital experience is preferred, but not required.
Essential duties will include*:
- Observe hospital protocols.
- Manage multiple tasks quickly and accurately.
- Be able to maintain a clean working environment.
- Demonstrates attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
- Communicate directions to other team members.
- Firmly adhere to the values and ethics of the animal hospital.
- Exhibit honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Flexible and willing to work with others; collaborating and compromising where necessary.
- Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets.
Physical and other Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (work requires lifting, carrying, and restraining animals - with assistance from other staff members for animals weighing over 50 pounds).
- Ability to handle stressful situations. This is a part-time position and we are looking for someone with a flexible schedule.
