Who We Are
Camp Pinerock is located in the beautiful cool pines of Prescott, Arizona. Since 1944 Camp Pinerock has been serving the Southwest. We are a year-round conference and retreat facility designed to provide lodging, meals, and activities for groups of 40 - 370.
Camp Pinerock is currently seeking a reliable cook for our kitchen.
If chosen, as a Cook, you would need to follow Camp Pinerock policies and procedures. You will be preparing meals anywhere from 40 to 370 people at a time that adheres to proper food safety standards.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and adhere to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation. Must possess an understanding of food safety and proper sanitation practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Collaborate with other Kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation.
- Monitor food inventory and communicate any shortages or needs to appropriate personnel.
- Has the ability to work independently when necessary.
- Exhibit understanding of basic math to appropriately measure alongside displaying proficiency in reading and understanding recipes.
- Show familiarity with dietary restrictions and the ability to accommodate special requests.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Possess ability to read, write, and follow written directions.
- Minimum of 6 months applicable experience preferred. On-the-job training is provided.
- The ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- The ability to squat, bend, twist, and lift regularly (20lbs or more).
- Professional Food Manager Certification or willingness to get one.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
Camp Pinerock does not provide on-site-housing so candidates need to have reliable transportation.
Starting pay is $17.25, but is negotiable based on experience.
