Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Store Manager to lead the exciting journey from pre-opening preparations to the grand opening of a new retail location. As the Store Manager, you will oversee all aspects of store setup, team recruitment, training, and initial sales operations, ensuring a seamless transition into a thriving retail destination. Duties
- Lead the pre-opening process by coordinating store setup, merchandising plans, inventory management systems, and POS (Point of Sale) installation
- Recruit, interview, and select qualified staff members to build a motivated retail team aligned with company standards
- Develop comprehensive employee orientation programs to familiarize new hires with store policies, customer service expectations, and operational procedures
- Manage payroll processing, bookkeeping, and inventory control to ensure accurate financial and stock records from day one
- Oversee purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and merchandising to optimize sales potential and customer experience
- Supervise daily store operations including cashiering, customer service excellence, shift management, and safety compliance
- Implement training & development initiatives to enhance team skills in sales management, product knowledge, POS systems, and operational tasks
- Monitor store performance metrics regularly; adjust strategies to meet sales goals while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction
- Ensure effective communication across all levels of staff; foster a positive team environment focused on collaboration and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven management experience within the retail industry with a focus on store opening or operational setup
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise diverse teams effectively
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management, bookkeeping, and scheduling
- Proficiency in POS systems, retail math calculations, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills
- Exceptional communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development programs
- Knowledge of retail sales strategies including pricing, merchandising, and promotional planning
- Ability to manage budgets effectively while ensuring operational efficiency during the critical pre-opening phase
- Demonstrated ability to handle customer service issues professionally and resolve conflicts efficiently
- Familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong time management skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
