SecurNation is seeking a motivated, hands-on Assistant Director of Security to support security operations at a large commercial property in Atlanta.
This leadership role assists the Director of Security in overseeing a 24/7 security operation, supervising security personnel, maintaining strong relationships with property management, and ensuring exceptional service for tenants, visitors, and guests.
This position is ideal for an experienced security supervisor or manager who is ready to take the next step into senior leadership.
This is not a traditional Monday through Friday, 9-to-5 management position. The Assistant Director must be flexible, visible, and engaged, providing operational support whenever business needs require. Success in this role requires strong leadership, sound decision-making, and the ability to effectively manage people in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Security with the daily management of security operations across a large commercial property.
- Supervise security supervisors and officers while promoting accountability, professionalism, and outstanding customer service.
- Maintain regular communication with property management regarding daily operations, incidents, and security concerns.
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Support emergency response efforts, major events, and critical incidents.
- Conduct site inspections, security audits, and operational reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, post orders, and client expectations.
- Assist in preparing incident reports, operational reports, client updates, and performance metrics.
- Help maintain staffing levels and ensure shift coverage.
- Foster a positive team culture focused on safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive security experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- At least 2 years of experience supervising security personnel.
- Experience working at a large commercial property, corporate campus, mixed-use development, airport, hospital, stadium, convention center, or similarly complex environment is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading supervisors or large teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions during emergencies and high-pressure situations.
- Experience preparing reports, conducting investigations, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with WINTeam workforce management software and Avigilon video management systems is a plus but not required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Schedule & Availability
This position supports a 24/7 security operation. Candidates must be willing to:
- Work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
- Assist with after-hours incidents and emergency response.
- Support the Director of Security with on-call responsibilities.
- Adjust schedules to ensure operational coverage and leadership presence when needed.
