Maintenance Specialist II, SE Multi-Skilled (260 Days) -(RTP20260303-003)
Description
Under general supervision, perform a variety of repairs and installations at District campuses and facilities.

Perform a variety of repairs and installations to the District's campuses and facilities using various crafts including carpentry, flooring, wall, ceiling, door repairs, and painting.

Identify and resolve maintenance repair issues related to the various multi-skills crafts. Report observed maintenance problems that require action of other Maintenance departments.

Safely construct and use scaffolding, extension ladders, and hydraulic lift buckets for exterior painting, power-washing, and other requests of multi-level facilities.

Maintain inventory of assigned tools, equipment, and vehicles as assigned daily, inform supervisor of any known problems, and provide documentation during inspection and/or inventory of tools, equipment, and vehicle as required. Responsible for keeping up truck stock and maintaining the stock daily.

Follow District safety guidelines, using good safety practices for operating hand and power tools and equipment as needed for job completion. Wear the appropriate safety equipment and PPE, as assigned, at all times.

Maintain accurate records for labor, materials, work order completion, project orders, manufacture's technical data sheets, material safety data sheets, and other maintenance records.

Communicate effectively with principals, department heads, district staff, and all other auxiliary services personnel in a professional manner in all phases necessary to locate, correct, repair, and complete each job or project. Respond to all requested communication within 24 hours.

Comply with District policies and procedures.

May be required to work after hours or any other approved schedule to accommodate District or department needs.
Qualifications

Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. Equivalency).

Valid Texas Driver’s License and a record that meets the District’s standard.

3-5 direct experience in four different crafts; One (1) year of experience in carpentry, flooring, ceiling repair, and painting. Masonry/plaster/ceramic
tile experience is desired. -
Proven knowledge of various multi-skills crafts including but not limited to carpentry, flooring, walls, ceiling, door repairs, and painting. Proven ability to use various equipment and tools, power and hand, necessary for the position.

Ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision.

Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.

Demonstrated basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
