Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Specialists to join our team for both part-time and full-time positions. In this role, you will utilize your personal recovery experience to provide hope, support, and guidance to clients on their recovery journey. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in fostering trust, promoting empowerment, and helping clients achieve their goals in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with clients to foster a sense of hope and empowerment.
- Share personal recovery experiences to inspire and motivate clients.
- Facilitate one-on-one and group peer support sessions to encourage engagement in the recovery process.
- Assist clients with task and activities related to goals person centered goals and recovery plans.
- Provide information about and connections to community resources and services that support recovery.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure clients receives team effort support and person-centered care.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of clients to ensure they have access to necessary resources and services.
Qualifications:
- Lived experience in recovery with a minimum of one year of sustained recovery
- Peer Support Specialist Certification
- Valid Driver's License
- Reliable Transportation
- Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries with empathy and understanding
- Knowledge of local recovery resources and services is a plus
