Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our nursing facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in janitorial and custodial services, with expertise in floor care and environmental cleaning. As a Floor Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all flooring surfaces are kept in pristine condition, contributing to a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for residents, patients and visitors alike.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of various flooring surfaces such as carpets, tile, vinyl, and hardwood.
- Conduct specialized floor care procedures such as buffing, polishing, stripping, and sealing to maintain optimal appearance and durability.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to ensure effective removal of dirt, stains, and debris while adhering to safety protocols.
- Execute carpet cleaning tasks using commercial-grade equipment to eliminate stains and allergens.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, break rooms, and common areas by performing sanitation tasks in accordance with health standards.
- Follow established safety procedures during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or damage to property.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to ensure swift resolution and continuous facility safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles within commercial or institutional settings.
- Must be able to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning methods.
- Familiarity with environmental services standards and best practices for maintaining hygienic environments.
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers, extractors, vacuums, and other related equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and reporting issues accurately.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
