Crew Laborer / Conveyor Belt Technician
Overview: The Crew Laborer / Conveyor Belt Technician supports field and shop operations by performing conveyor belt maintenance, repairs, and specialty service work. This role is a hands-on position requiring physical capability, technical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. Employees in this role work as part of a service crew under the direction of a Crew Boss and Service Management.
Reports To: Crew Boss and respective Service Managers (Surface, Underground, or Specialty).
Key Responsibilities

Perform conveyor belt maintenance, repairs, and installations in field and shop environments.

Assist with specialty service work, including inspections, troubleshooting, and component replacement.

Operate hand tools, power tools, and service equipment safely and efficiently.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and site-specific safety standards.

Follow job instructions and safety protocols as directed by the Crew Boss and Service Managers.

Perform miscellaneous shop and support duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds over head on a daily basis.

Willingness to work in physically demanding environments and varying job site conditions.

Strong attention to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Mechanical aptitude or prior conveyor belt, industrial maintenance, or field service experience preferred.

Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime as required.
Remote / Hybrid Work - This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work. Job duties require an on-site presence at customer locations, job sites, and company facilities.
Travel Requirements - Regular travel to customer job sites is required. Travel may include daily local travel and occasional overnight stays depending on project location, duration, and business needs. A valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record are required.
Schedule & Compensation - Full-time position with an average of approximately 50 hours per week; hours may vary based on workload and project demands.
