Job Summary
The Environmental Services Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within healthcare and commercial facilities. This position is responsible for performing various cleaning and sanitization tasks to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas in accordance with established protocols.
- Conduct floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, and buffing to maintain clean and safe surfaces.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment while adhering to OSHA regulations and safety guidelines.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste materials and follow infection control procedures to prevent contamination.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as needed, including deep cleaning tasks in hospital or commercial settings.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to facility cleanliness and sanitation.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of custodial practices and environmental services within healthcare or commercial settings.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards related to cleaning and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and other staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Previous experience in hospital or commercial cleaning is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
