What You Will Do
- Supports all activities in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality and food safety management system
- Report any quality and/or food safety problems to personnel of authority to initiate action
- Fill in for sick, vacation, call-in absences etc., as an operator as needed
- Assists with Roll changes as well as with Set ups and tear downs
- Provides the Handling and disposition of raw material, packaging items and dunnage, finished goods, etc. around machine centers
- Assists with routine maintenance
- Assists with Quality checks and adjustments
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adjust speed of machine and conveyor belts. Sets, adjusts and monitors sealing temperatures.
- Ensures materials are available for next order & next shift
- Sets the example of safe operation by following established safety guidelines; Follows established safety guidelines; holds self and others accountable
- Initiates and supports improvement initiatives
- Complete the applicable machine center Master Cleaning schedule(s), checklist(s), and audit(s) related to Food Safety Management System
- Verifies accuracy of machine setup, following guidelines or samples, and observes operation of machine throughout production run and adjusts to improve efficiencies
- Stops, resets, and restarts machine when malfunctions occur
- Removes collated products from machine or conveyor belt and stacks products on skid or pallet.
- Records time spent on specific tasks and productivity on daily production sheets and/or electronically
- Performs routine maintenance to ensure machine is in good working order
- Performs routine quality checks to ensure accuracy of product and records tracks and analyzes quality data
- Assists other department members with handling and disposition of raw material, packaging items and dunnage, finished goods
What You Have to Offer
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of English / American currency and measurement of weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Problem solving skills
