Position Overview
DSFPA Law Office is seeking an experienced Contract Litigation Attorney to handle the firm's litigation matters on an independent contractor basis. This position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys courtroom advocacy and wants flexibility while maintaining a substantial litigation practice.
The attorney will be responsible for managing litigation files, attending hearings, conducting depositions, handling mediations, and representing clients in court. The firm will provide support staff and case assignments, while the attorney will serve as lead counsel for litigation matters.
Responsibilities
- Handle all court appearances, including hearings, trials, and case management conferences.
- Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, responses, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
- Conduct depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
- Prepare and respond to discovery.
- Develop litigation strategies and provide recommendations to clients.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy.
- Review contracts, governing documents, and case-related records.
- Coordinate with the firm's paralegals and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.

Qualifications
- Active member in good standing with The Florida Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of Florida litigation experience.

- Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
- Professional demeanor and strong client communication skills.
- Familiarity with Florida state court procedures and e-filing requirements.
