Ohm Coffee Roasters is a small but hard-rocking specialty coffee roaster, with a loyal and fast-growing customer base in and around Napa and Sonoma, CA. Started in May, 2016, the truck visits local farmers markets, office buildings, wineries, and events big and small primarily in the North Bay. We are a mainstay of the Napa Farmers Market, and have had our truck at some of the premier events in the area including BottleRock, Auction Napa Valley, the Napa Valley Film Festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, and Napa Porchfest. In late 2024 Ohm opened coffee shops in downtown Napa and downtown Sonoma. In addition to the coffee shop & truck business, Ohm also sells to local grocers, cafés, and wineries, as well as online via our website and rapidly expanding subscription service. Ohm Coffee Roasters has been voted Best Local Roaster in the North Bay Bohemian's Best of the North Bay, for three years running. PURPOSE OF JOB
Ohm Coffee Roasters is seeking a rock-star candidate to assume the role of Coffee Production Assistant where we roast in Napa, CA. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about the world of coffee and are eager to learn about roasting. The production assistant supports weekly roasting and production operations by preparing and sanitizing equipment, weighing and labeling green coffee for roasting, assisting in blend production, and maintaining inventory. Contributes to cold brew manufacturing, wholesale order fulfillment, and delivery logistics, including FIFO management at client locations and green coffee pickups. Assists with equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance, with occasional support in retail café operations as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Prepare and sanitize roasting equipment to ensure safe and compliant cleanliness standards
- Take numbers from weekly production plan & prepare green coffee beans for roasting by scooping and measuring accurate weights, as well as labeling batches clearly.
- Assist head roaster to build Ohm’s signature blends based on recipes.
- Assist with bean inventory management
- Assist with roasting equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Deliver wholesale orders & managing “first in first out” practices in client spaces. (Requires clean driving record)
- Assist with green coffee bean pickups in East Bay area. Requires clean driving record.
- Assist with and manage cold brew manufacturing
- Occasional coverage in coffee shops may be needed

- Ability to anticipate obstacles and take action to prevent or minimize their impact.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills required—Homebase time clock, Google Drive/Sheets/Docs, email/calendar.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. English required, Spanish or other languages a plus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Manufacturing or specialty coffee experience a plus
- Previous coffee production/roastery experience a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- ServSafe or equivalent CA food handler certificate.
- SCAA training/certification a plus.
- First Aid/CPR certification a plus.

- Regularly required to handle food, and work with production machinery requiring focus to maintain safety.
