Duties
- Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services to patients in hospital, outpatient, and emergency settings, including ventilator management and airway clearance techniques.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and evaluate respiratory function to develop tailored treatment plans.
- Administer medications related to respiratory care, such as bronchodilators and aerosol therapies, following strict medical protocols.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced equipment like ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and pulse oximeters within critical care units including ICU and PICU.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and trauma centers to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, vital signs, medication administration, and patient progress in compliance with hospital policies.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations involving airway management or respiratory distress, providing lifesaving interventions as needed.
Requirements
- Valid registration as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with current licensure in the applicable region or country.
- Proven experience working in hospital environments such as ICU, PICU, Level I or Level II trauma centers, or outpatient clinics.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pulmonology, and medical terminology related to respiratory health.
- Hands-on experience with ventilator management, airway procedures, and acute care interventions.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments accurately and respond effectively during emergencies involving critical care or trauma cases.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams across various specialties including pediatrics and geriatrics.
