Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Upholstery Production Foreman to lead our upholstery production team while also working directly alongside our upholsterers and seamstresses.
This is a hands-on working foreman position. The person hired will not simply supervise from an office. They will be expected to actively participate in cutting, sewing, upholstering, measuring, troubleshooting, quality control, on-site work, and installations as needed.
The ideal candidate is an expert craftsperson and strong team leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. You must be able to organize the production floor, assign work, maintain deadlines, train employees, solve technical problems, and personally step in to complete difficult or time-sensitive projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all daily activity on the upholstery production floor
- Work directly alongside upholsterers and seamstresses throughout the workday
- Personally perform upholstery, reupholstery, fabric cutting, sewing, assembly, repairs, and finishing work
- Assign projects based on employee skill levels, production priorities, and deadlines
- Ensure orders are completed on schedule and meet company quality standards
- Train, guide, and motivate upholsterers and seamstresses
- Assist employees with difficult upholstery, sewing, cutting, and fabrication challenges
- Interpret technical drawings, measurements, templates, work orders, and project specifications
- Calculate fabric, leather, foam, wood, and other material requirements
- Oversee the safe and proper use of sewing machines, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and woodworking equipment
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process
- Identify defects, measurement issues, or construction problems and implement corrective action
- Maintain an organized and efficient production workflow
- Monitor the use and availability of fabric, leather, foam, wood components, and other upholstery materials
- Take accurate measurements at residential and commercial job sites
- Participate in furniture deliveries and installations
- Coordinate with the design, estimating, project-management, and office teams
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional production environment
- Take responsibility for department productivity, workmanship, and timely project completion
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of professional upholstery experience
- Previous experience supervising or leading upholsterers, seamstresses, or production employees
- Willingness and ability to work hands-on on the production floor every day
- Expert knowledge of furniture upholstery and reupholstery techniques
- Strong skills in fabric cutting, pattern matching, sewing, foam fabrication, assembly, and upholstery repair
- Proficiency with industrial sewing machines and professional sewing techniques
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, measurements, templates, and specifications
- Experience measuring furniture and spaces at customer job sites
- Experience with furniture delivery and installation
- Familiarity with woodworking and furniture-frame construction
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and woodworking equipment safely
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
- Ability to organize projects, manage employees, and meet production deadlines
- English proficiency sufficient to lead employees and communicate with customers, designers, and office staff
- Physical ability to handle materials, move furniture, and participate in production and installation work
- Dependable, organized, accountable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Compensation
Expected annual earnings are $85,000–$140,000+, depending on experience, leadership ability, productivity, and the amount of additional work completed.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
