Candidate Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Retirement Plan Relationship Manager to serve as a primary point of contact for our plan sponsors and participants. In this role, you will help clients navigate the complexities of 401(k), 403(b), 457(b)(f), and other retirement plan types, ensuring a seamless experience from plan set-up to ongoing management.You will work cross-functionally with recordkeeping, compliance, and operations teams to resolve inquiries, support plan administration, and uphold regulatory standards with accuracy and care.We need someone who can take charge and play an active role managing our 30+ retirement plans (and growing). The financial services business is fast and ever-changing; the ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate follow-up is extremely important. It is imperative that you manage your job duties with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide service support for new and existing retirement plans.
- Respond quickly to inbound inquiries from plan sponsors and participants via phone and email.
- Guide plan sponsors through plan documents, annual nondiscrimination testing (ADP/ACP), and compliance requirements under ERISA and IRS regulations.
- Plan review scheduling and preparation.
- Investment committee meeting scheduling and preparation.
- Coordinate the following with the Recordkeepers and TPA’s:
- - Plan review meetings
- - Investment committee meetings
- - Plan design changes
- - Investment menu updates
- - 5500 preparation and completion
- - Plan amendments
- Provide technical support with plan design, fee structure, and operations.
- Request and prepare vendor proposals managing an RFP process.
- Coordinate with the recordkeeper and TPA operation teams to resolve issues and processing data.
- Document all participant and plan sponsor interactions thoroughly in the CRM system.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and escalate complex cases to senior specialists or legal/compliance as appropriate.
- Prepare meeting minutes following plan reviews and investment committee meetings.
- Implement action items.
- Debrief with advisors after client meetings to develop action plans for design and implementation.
- Provide quarterly investment monitoring reports to plan sponsors.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with changing regulations and plan design trends.
Qualifications Required:
- 7+ years of experience in retirement plan administration, recordkeeping, and financial services.
- Ability to manage a high volume of inquiries with accuracy and composure.
- Experience with recordkeeping platforms (Empower, Fidelity, Voya, Transamerica).
- Working knowledge of ERISA and Non-ERISA plans, including IRS regulations as it pertains to retirement plans (401k, 403b, 457, DB, 409A).
- Familiarity with SECURE 2.0 Act provisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
