Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical pharmacy and patient care, with experience in various hospital settings including Level I and Level II trauma centers. Responsibilities
- Review and interpret medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services in acute care settings, including ICU and emergency room environments.
- Conduct patient assessments to evaluate medication therapy and manage acute pain effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop individualized medication plans for patients.
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques during IV infusion preparation and administration.
- Educate patients and healthcare staff on medication use, side effects, and interactions.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient care activities.
- Participate in pharmacy residency programs or training of pharmacy students as needed.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and advancements in pharmacotherapy.
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a pharmacy residency is preferred; post-residency experience is a plus.
- Strong clinical pharmacy experience in managed care or hospital settings.
- Knowledge of critical care practices, including pediatrics and pain management.
- Familiarity with acute care protocols and emergency medicine practices.
- Proficient in medication administration techniques, including IV infusion methods.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide tailored pharmaceutical care.
