AllwayzMags — Shop Lead
Location: Pine Bluffs, Wyoming
Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Ryan (President)
About AllwayzMags
AllwayzMags is a Wyoming-based metal fabrication shop specializing in custom ranch signs, metal art, home décor, and contract fabrication. We build things that last—American steel, powder-coated finishes, and craftsmanship you can see. We're growing, and we need a leader on the shop floor to make it happen.
The Role
We're looking for a Shop Lead to run day-to-day production operations. You'll manage workflow, oversee quality, and develop our small team, so the owner can focus on sales and growth.
This isn't a desk job. You'll be hands-on when needed, but your primary job is to keep the shop moving: jobs on time, quality dialed in, and the team working effectively.
What We're Looking For
You need at least five years of experience in metal fabrication or welding. This is a leadership role, and you can't lead what you don't understand. You should have prior supervisory or lead experience, even if it was informal. We need someone who has directed others, not just worked alongside them. You must be proficient in MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding so you can be hands-on when needed. You should be able to read blueprints and interpret designs, translating drawings into finished products. Strong organizational skills are essential because jobs don't manage themselves and you'll be running the queue. Above all, you need to be reliable and self-directed. The owner won't be in the shop daily, so you'll own it.
Preferred
Experience with CNC plasma tables is a plus since we have one and use it daily. Familiarity with powder coating is helpful as it's part of our finishing process. A background in custom or artistic fabrication would serve you well here because we do creative work, not just structural. Small shop experience matters because you'll understand scrappy environments where everyone wears multiple hats. Experience training or mentoring junior welders is valuable since half the job is developing our team.
Who You Are
- You take ownership. If something is broken, you fix it or figure out who can.
- You're organized but not rigid. Plans change and you adapt.
- You communicate directly with no drama and no games.
- You're proud of your craft and expect the same from your team.
- You want to build something, not just punch a clock.
What You'll Do: Production Management
- Own the daily job queue—prioritize, assign, and track work through completion
- Keep production on schedule and flag delays before they become problems
- Manage workflow to maximize throughput without sacrificing quality
- Coordinate materials and supplies so the team isn't waiting around
Quality Control
- Inspect finished work before it leaves the shop
- Maintain standards—every piece reflects our reputation
- Catch mistakes early, fix processes so they don't repeat
Team Leadership
- Direct and develop a small team (currently 2, growing)
- Train junior fabricators on techniques, equipment, and standards
- Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable
- Create a shop culture of pride, speed, and precision
Equipment & Shop Management
- Ensure equipment is maintained and operational
- Manage consumables inventory (welding supplies, steel stock)
- Keep the shop organized, safe, and efficient
- Oversee CNC plasma table operations and maintenance
Communication
- Provide regular updates to ownership on production status, issues, and needs
- Coordinate with ownership on job scheduling and priorities
- Communicate clearly with the team—no confusion, no excuses
- You take ownership—if it's broken, you fix it or figure out who can
- You're organized but not rigid—plans change, you adapt
- You communicate directly—no drama, no games
- You're proud of your craft and expect the same from your team
- You want to build something, not just punch a clock
What You'll Get
- Ownership of the shop floor-- You run it. Real authority, real accountability
- Growth Path--As AllwayzMags grows, so does your role and compensation
- Small team, low politics. No corporate nonsense.
Just build cool stuff and live a Wyoming lifestyle. If you're relocating, you already know why this matters.

Subject: Shop Lead Application
A Note From the Owner:
I'm looking for someone who wants to own the shop floor. I'll handle sales, and strategy. You handle production and management. If you're the kind of person who sees a job board with nothing on it and goes looking for work anyway, who catches problems before I even know they exist, who trains your team instead of just doing it yourself...Let's talk.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
