Langwater Farm, started in 2010, is a family farm growing certified organic mixed fruit and vegetables, and currently producing on close to 80 acres in North Easton, MA. Langwater Farm’s mission is to grow healthy, delicious, organic produce of the highest quality to feed our community.
We operate a retail farm store and kitchen with a busy food service operation on the farm in North Easton MA, and we are looking for a dependable Line/Prep Cook to join our team. This role focuses on sandwich production during a high-volume lunch service while assisting with daily prep and kitchen operations.
This is not a traditional restaurant environment. We are a family-run farm with a strong sense of community and teamwork. Our service is centered around daytime operations, with morning and afternoon food service, and weekly Friday pizza nights that run until 8pm. Outside of those nights, we do not operate late hours. We value a supportive, team-focused atmosphere where everyone contributes, learns, and has room to grow within the organization.
Weekend availability is required. Saturdays and Sundays are our busiest days, and consistent weekend availability is a non-negotiable requirement for this position.
Responsibilities
- Manage your station and complete daily prep.
- Prepare sandwiches efficiently while maintaining the Chef’s quality standards.
- Write and execute a daily prep list for your station.
- Assist with larger kitchen prep projects as needed.
- Participate in community food-related events on the farm
- Help with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning when necessary.
- Store and organize food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators/freezers)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment.
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
Qualifications and skills
- 1–2 years of line cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant or cafe.
- Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Enjoys a collaborative work environment
- Has an infectious love of cooking and sharing great food
- Must be available to work weekends on a consistent basis. Applicants without weekend availability will not be considered.
Compensation
- Hourly: $20-$24/hr, commensurate with experience
- Participation in 3% employer matching SIMPLE IRA program after one year of full-time employment
- Enrollment in our Health Insurance Program after a 3 month waiting period for full time employees.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
