About Us
Glenwood Grove Early Learning is a new licensed in-home early childhood program launching in Scotts Valley on July 6th. We are a small, intentional program built around the belief that the earliest years deserve the most thoughtful care. Our setting is warm, home-based, and deliberately intimate with small group sizes, meaningful relationships, and a genuine commitment to each child's development.
We are in our launch phase and growing, and we are looking for a founding lead teacher who wants to grow with us. As our program expands, our lead teacher will have real influence over the curriculum, the culture, and the team we build. This is a rare opportunity to be part of something from the beginning, and we are committed to recognizing that contribution as we do.
The Role
As Lead Teacher you will lead our structured morning program, the heart of our educational day. You will be responsible for:
Designing and delivering a warm, developmentally appropriate curriculum including circle time, sensory exploration, early literacy and numeracy, art, and outdoor play
Providing attentive, high-quality care for infants and preschool-age children
Helping interview and select your own assistant teacher (your input matters to us)
Managing day-to-day classroom operations including Brightwheel documentation, daily logs, and parent communications
Collaborating directly with program owners on curriculum planning, family relationships, and program development
Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that reflects our program philosophy
About Our Program
We are in our launch phase. Our initial enrollment will include infants and preschool-age children and the exact mix will evolve as our waitlist grows. We are being transparent about this because we want someone who is energized by the opportunity to help shape what we build, not someone looking for a fully defined role in an established center. If you are the kind of educator whose ideas actually get implemented, this is the place for you.
Schedule and Time Off
We follow the Scotts Valley Unified School District calendar. That means you will have all district holidays, breaks, and minimum days off, including winter break, spring break, and all major holidays. We also close for one additional week in the summer. This is a role with genuinely ample time off built into the schedule, not just on paper.
We are open to both part-time and full-time candidates and will tailor the schedule and compensation to the right person.
Compensation
Compensation ranges from $25 to $30 per hour depending on experience, credentials, and hours. Part-time candidates generally earn toward the higher end of the hourly range. Full-time candidates earn a lower hourly rate but significantly higher total annual compensation.
Part-time option:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 1:00pm (25 hours per week)
$28 to $30 per hour depending on experience and credentials
Afternoons completely free, ideal for parents, ECE students, or professionals building a career in early childhood
Full-time option:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (40 hours per week)
$25 to $28 per hour depending on experience and credentials
Annual salary equivalent of $52,000 to $58,240
For all candidates:
No weekends, no evenings
Paid time off following the Scotts Valley Unified School District calendar
Paid rest breaks
Compensation is negotiable for the right person. Tell us what works for you.

Why Glenwood Grove
This is not a role at a large center where you deliver someone else's curriculum to a room full of kids. You will have genuine influence here. You will help hire your own assistant. You will shape how we introduce ourselves to the families we serve. You will be a founding voice in a program we intend to grow thoughtfully, and as we grow, we intend to grow with you.
If you are a talented, experienced early childhood educator looking for a role where your work genuinely matters and your ideas are heard, we want to meet you.
