American Traveler seeks a NBSTSA-certified Scrub Technician with CVOR experience for a cardiovascular operating room position at a hospital in Charleston, SC

Day shift hours from 0630–1500, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week

Call requirements include 2 weekday call shifts and every 3rd–4th weekend call

Charting performed in Cerner

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

CVOR experience is required

NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
-
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
-
Active SC or compact license required, if applicable
-
High school diploma or GED required, along with completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or an approved military surgical technology training program
-
Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, crouch, and stoop frequently
-
Ability to lift, move, or carry up to 50 lbs intermittently and push or pull up to 50 lbs frequently
-
Frequent use of finger and hand dexterity, reaching, and twisting
-
Ability to work in environments with exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and moderate to high noise levels
-
Assist in coordinating and implementing patient care under established professional and hospital standards
-
Create and maintain asepsis, perform scrubbing duties, and account for all equipment and supplies used during surgical cases
-
Communicate patient information to appropriate team members and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals
-
May serve as a clinical preceptor for scrubbing duties in collaboration with the patient care coordinator and educator
-
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the unit and proper care of equipment used during surgical cases
-
Medications are not to be handled at any time; this position has limited access to medication rooms
-
Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital
-
Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
-
