Lifeguard
Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Lifeguard to ensure the safety of all lake and aquatic facility visitors. The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining a safe environment through proactive supervision, emergency response, and excellent customer service. This position involves weekend shifts during the fall season with a priority rehire for the following summer season. All duties are performed in accordance with safety standards and facility policies to promote a secure and enjoyable experience for guests.
Responsibilities
- Monitor lake areas continuously to prevent accidents and respond promptly to any emergencies.
- Perform water rescue responses as needed, utilizing water rescue techniques to assist individuals in distress.
- Administer first aid and CPR to injured or distressed individuals, ensuring immediate and effective care.
- Operate Automated External Defibrillators (AED) in emergency situations following proper protocols.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations to uphold safety standards and promote respectful behavior among guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the beach area.
- Communicate effectively with team members, guests, and management regarding safety concerns or incidents.
Requirements
- Valid certification in First Aid and CPR/AED from a recognized organization.
- Valid certification in Deep Water Lifeguarding.
- Valid certification in Waterfront Lifeguarding.
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to perform water rescues confidently.
- Prior experience or certification as a Lifeguard is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary.
- Ability to work weekends during the fall season, with a focus on weekend shifts.
- Demonstrated responsibility, attentiveness, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Prioritize rehire for next summer based on performance during the fall season.
