Experience: Director
Salary: $190,000 - $290,000 per year
Job Details

This is a senior leadership seat with direct people authority. The entire project management team reports to you — currently one Senior Project Manager, three Project Managers, three Assistant Project Managers, and one Project Engineer. You'll report to the Director of Operations.
You'll own a portfolio of projects from concept through closeout and serve as the primary relationship with owners, developers, and design partners. You'll partner closely with pre-construction on bidding, estimating, scheduling, and contract review. And you'll own the number: budgets, cost control, and profitability across your portfolio.
Projects run up to $40M, with the sweet spot between $5M and $20M — big enough to be interesting, small enough that you're actually in them rather than three layers above.
Just as importantly: you'll build. This role includes standing up systems and process and scaling the PM bench underneath you. If you want a machine handed to you, this isn't it. If you want to build the machine and be recognized for it, keep reading.
What You Bring
-
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
-
10+ years of general contracting experience, including significant time as a Senior Project Manager or PX
-
Ground-up multifamily delivery experience strongly preferred; rehab multifamily counts
-
Direct management experience leading PMs and APMs — not just mentoring
-
Strong pre-construction, estimating, scheduling, and budgeting command
-
Comfort with ambiguity and a genuine appetite for building process where none exists
A bit about us:
-
We're a Twin Cities general contractor with more than 60 years in this market. We build multifamily — both ground-up and rehab — alongside senior housing, supportive housing, and community-focused commercial, light retail, and religious facilities. We're small on purpose: lean enough that your fingerprints are on the outcome, established enough to have strong stability. Our values aren't wall art — care for others, straight communication, humility, and taking on hard things with enthusiasm are how we actually operate.
Why join us?
-
-
Real authority from day one. Eight direct reports, a portfolio P&L, and a seat at the table.
-
Path to ownership and leadership. Multiple senior leaders are retiring over the next 18–24 months. This is runway, not a lateral.
-
You'll actually have impact. People come here from the big nationals specifically to stop being a line item and start moving the business.
-
Direct access to leadership. No layers, no gatekeepers. The C-suite is a hallway away and answers on the first ask.
-
Small-company family culture. People stay here 10, 13, 20 years — and the ones who leave the bigs to join us don't go back.
-
Work/life balance we'll defend. Senior leadership here treats it as a differentiator, not a perk page.
-
Meaningful work. Affordable and supportive housing, historic renovation, and community projects alongside market-rate multifamily.
