Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator-Test Technician to join our manufacturing team on all shifts. This position offers an immediate start, with a quick hire process and the opportunity to begin work as early as Monday. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating complex machinery, conducting rigorous testing, and ensuring the highest quality standards for electronic components and assemblies. This role is essential in maintaining efficient production workflows, performing precise diagnostics, and supporting quality assurance initiatives across multiple manufacturing processes.
Key responsibilities include setting up and operating surface mount technology (SMT) equipment, utilizing diagnostic tools for troubleshooting, performing electrical and mechanical inspections, and executing comprehensive testing procedures such as electronics functional testing, RF testing, and circuit analysis. The technician will also interpret electrical schematics, utilize spectrum analyzers, and employ precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to verify component specifications. Attention to safety procedures, quality control standards such as IPC 610, and data collection for process improvement are integral parts of this role.
This position offers a dynamic work environment where technical expertise in electronics, circuit testing, soldering, and automation is highly valued. Candidates with strong analysis skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting will thrive in this fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Operate automated manufacturing equipment with precision, ensuring adherence to production schedules.
- Conduct comprehensive testing of electronic assemblies using diagnostic tools including spectrum analyzers, ohmmeters, and specialized test automation systems.
- Perform quality inspections on PCB (Printed Circuit Board) assemblies in accordance with IPC 610 standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and engineering troubleshooting documents to diagnose issues effectively.
- Execute electrical diagnostics such as voltage testing, RF testing, and component analysis to identify faults.
- Utilize hand tools like soldering irons, calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments for assembly and repair tasks.
- Document test results accurately; collect data for quality control reports and process improvements.
- Support manufacturing by assembling electronic components using surface mount technology (SMT) techniques.
- Follow electrical safety procedures diligently during all operational activities.
- Assist in calibration of equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on troubleshooting complex electronic systems; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a machine operator or test technician within electronics manufacturing or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT), PCB assembly, and electronic component testing.
- Familiarity with quality assurance standards such as IPC 610; experience with quality inspection processes.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and engineering troubleshooting documents.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools including spectrum analyzers, ohmmeters, multimeters, and automated optical inspection systems.
- Ability to perform electrical diagnostics involving voltage testing, RF analysis, circuit testing, and component verification.
- Skilled in soldering (including electrical soldering), mechanical assembly techniques, and using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures relevant to manufacturing environments.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electronic systems efficiently.
- Experience working with automated test equipment (ATE) or similar test automation platforms is preferred.
