This position should be able to operate some kitchen equipment and most kitchen utensils with minimal supervision. Responsible for maintaining food quality, kitchen equipment, and kitchen utensil knowledge. Ability to follow established recipes and menu guidelines. Ability to work in all assigned areas and assist other kitchen members with food preparation. Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and kitchen equipment. Ensure food quality and preparation meets kitchen supervisors expectations. Responsible to prepare and package food for a specific area.

Adhere to control procedures for food costs and quantity.

Responsible for maintaining food presentation, quantity, temperature, consistency, stirring food, cleanliness, and maintaining health department standards.

Perform basic recipe cooking functions in preparation for service.

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, sweep and mop floors, wash work tables and walls, remove grease and trash in prep area following the end of a shift.

Perform side work including the restocking of food and supplies.

Report any maintenance issues or defective equipment to Kitchen Supervisor immediately.

Assures an environment which emphasizes cooperation, communication, and teamwork with all departments.

Support compliance with all internal procedures and regulatory requirements, including those associated with underage and intoxicated guests.
