Job Overview
MIT Logistics is seeking an experienced Safety & Maintenance Manager to oversee fleet safety compliance, driver safety programs, and truck/trailer maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, fleet maintenance, and transportation industry best practices.
Responsibilities
Manage company safety programs and ensure FMCSA/DOT compliance
Conduct driver onboarding, safety training, and ongoing coaching
Review driver logs, ELD records, and Hours of Service compliance
Investigate accidents, incidents, and violations; implement corrective actions
Schedule and monitor preventive maintenance for trucks and trailers
Coordinate repairs with vendors, dealerships, and repair facilities
Maintain maintenance records and ensure equipment compliance
Track CSA scores and work to improve safety performance
Manage annual inspections, permits, registrations, and compliance documentation
Develop and enforce company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
✔ Previous experience in trucking fleet safety, compliance, or maintenance management
✔ Strong knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and ELD regulations
✔ Experience managing truck and trailer maintenance programs
✔ Excellent organizational and communication skills
✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced transportation environment
✔ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management software
