Performs difficult skilled technical and administrative work ensuring Solid Waste programs and routes are completed, handling complaints and requests for service from customers, monitoring service requests, coordinating collection actives, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Operations Manager. Continuous supervision is exercised over employees assigned to the Cart Program, Dead Animal Collection Program, Bulk Container Program, Street Sweeper Program, and other Solid Waste operations as assigned.
Education & Experience:

High school diploma (or equivalent) and five years of progressively responsible experience in solid waste, public works, or a closely related field, including supervisory experience.
Licenses:

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
Knowledge Requirements:

Thorough knowledge of solid waste operations, route planning, cart management, municipal services, safety regulations, customer service practices, and applicable City policies and procedures.
Skills:

Excellent leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills. Strong computer proficiency with the ability to create, analyze, reconcile, and interpret operational data and billing data; generate reports; manage service requests, cart inventory, and operational databases; and utilize Microsoft Office, Routeware, and other software applications. Demonstrated ability to identify root causes of operational inefficiencies, implement process improvement plans, supervise employees, and use data to improve service delivery, productivity, and operational performance.
