JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, Technology and Business Development, the Simulation Operations Specialist is responsible for the technical operations of the campus-wide simulation center (CHIPS). This position will set up, operate, and maintain the vast array of simulation technology (e.g., task trainers, low and high-fidelity manikins, software management systems, and audiovisual systems).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent in a health-related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of experience performing comparable duties and responsibilities described above; OR Associate’s Degree and three (3) years of related work experience; OR a combination of education and related work experience to equal five (5) years. (Experience supporting simulation operations, experience/degree in engineering, or experience/degree in human factors is preferred).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of relevant information technology including software and hardware used to run a simulation center.
- Ability to cross-train and support operational staff.
- Skill in coordinating and managing complex schedules, calendars, activities, and events.
- Strong presentation and communication skills required.
Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends.
