Queens Centers for Progress, a leading agency dedicated to providing person-centered services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) is seeking a compassionate, skilled and dedicated Licensed Social Worker to join our Article 16 Clinic, where person-centered care is at the heart of everything we do.
In this role, you will work closely with individuals and their families, providing counseling, conducting assessments, and helping connect them to vital services that improve quality of life.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Licensed Social Worker will conduct clinical evaluations and deliver structured therapeutic interventions to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as their families and significant others. Services are primarily provided through individual and family counseling, with the goal of addressing and alleviating emotional, social, and behavioral challenges in a supportive clinical setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide information and referral services to individuals with IDD and their families
- Conduct intake assessments and screenings, helping to identify presenting concerns
- Complete comprehensive psychosocial evaluations to determine OPWDD eligibility and recommend appropriate services
- Deliver individual and/or family counseling services
- Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with Part 679 regulations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution
- Current New York State licensure LMSW or LCSW required
- Minimum of one year of experience working in the IDD field
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish)
