Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs in an educational setting
- Assist students in following classroom routines and instructions
- Support students in completing academic tasks and assignments
- Help students develop social skills and promote positive behavior
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff
- Monitor and document student progress and behavior
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student's progress and any concerns
Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with special needs, preferably in an educational setting
- Knowledge of different learning styles and strategies to support diverse learners
- Ability to adapt and modify instruction based on individual student needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students who may have challenging behaviors or communication difficulties
- Organizational skills to keep track of student progress and documentation
