Position Description: To perform general upkeep and maintenance on the baseball/softball fields and the clubhouse. Position Responsibilities: 45.00% - Perform the routine general maintenance and groundskeeping pertaining to field maintenance necessary to keep the athletic fields and complex attractive and functioning. 20.00% - Perform laundry services for baseball and softball athletics. 15.00% - Assist in providing attendant services for college basketball games.
15.00% - Perform custodial clean up services for college gymnasium for college basketball games. 5.00% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Expectations: Must be able to work flexible hours. Must follow safety requirements pertaining to the duties assigned.
To report safety concerns to the supervisor. To report any damage to equipment or facility. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - General knowledge of athletic field upkeep and maintenance. Education - Enrolled in applicable Barton Community College credit hours during Fall and Spring semesters.
Other Skills - Prefer baseball, softball or soccer student athletes due to the fact they know the specifics regarding care of athletic fields. Physical Requirements: The work requires moderate physical exertion such as long periods of standing, repetitively lifting lightweight objects with frequent bending or stooping, recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as computer, printers, or record boxes. Occasionally lifts heavy objects (over 50 pounds). Job requires average agility and dexterity.
Occasional exposure to objectionable conditions or variations such as those found in variable weather conditions or light industrial settings. Wages/Other: This position pays $9.00 an hour.
